Does anyone know if you have to drop the subframe to install headers on an 02 LS1? For either side?

We got the passenger side in, does anyone know about the drivers side?

(assuming you mean LS1 Fbody) no you don't have to. If they are long tubes, the car needs to be at least 3 feet in the air. They should fit in there. You may have to drop the steering shaft for some headers. But all long tubes go IN from the bottom on F bodies.

My buddy had an 02 SS and to install his shorty headers he had to remove engine mount and lift engine up a few inches. Unsure what side it was though.
