  • building my own intake.

im going to build my own intake for my 95 3.4 sometime soon and i was thinking about makeing it much shorter, by putting the cone filter right whare the bend is now, and putting holes in the filter for the sensors and stuff. is it too hot right there? should i just build a regular one out of PVC that puts the filter whare it goes? what size PVC should i use?

just my .02, I think if you can wrap the tube with some heat wrap, it'll reduce the temp drastically

I was thinking about that, it would look ugly but it would work.

The first bend is 90 and the second is 45

I think ill heat wrap it and then put bigger pipe around the heat rap. And ill paint it all purdy.

                            I made mine out of a 4" elbow, 4" to 3" reducer, and a 3" elbow.
All out of heater ducting from Lowe's.

Can't really see it in this picture, but kind of. The filter is in the lower fender well and I have a scoop underneath to draw cold air in.

Do those ridges and the extra bend cause too much less flow? I was thinking about useing exaust pipe. And putting something like that over it to hide the heat wrap.
