Say you have a setup like Gr8, with nice cold air coming in from underneath. Would I be correct in thinking that the air would probably be traveling through that setup far too fast for the heatwrap to have time to make a difference??
I think it would help a little. I built the intake, or at least part of it. i put 3" pvc pipe whare the rubber 90 degree bend is. I couldn't fit the rest of the pipe around the radiator so I just keped the stock part and put my cone on the end. Think I should loose the bent up stock part?
It's actually pretty smooth on the inside. I forgot what I did but I put something in the ridges to make it smooth inside. Might have been silicon or something. I've felt the pipe after the car was running for a good hour and it's still cool to the touch, so I don't think there is much to be gained from heat wrap.
If you look at the doors back on an F-body, there is no difference from 97 to 98 aside from minor things like tail lights. 67-69 is 1st gen, 70-81 is 2nd gen, 82-92 is 3rd gen, 93-02 is 4th gen, and 09+ will be 5th gen. There were changes in the cars among generations but they didn't signify a new generation. 93-97 is more commonly noted as "early 4th gen" and 98-02, "late 4th gen," but they are all 4th gens.
yeah. I guess I wasn't thinking. I meant late fourth gen.
I tend to think in terms of lid vs no lid. I really like the lid setup, but no no lid gives you a bit more room to work with in terms of mods.
