  • woohoo magnaflow!

I just got my tax returns last week! So needless to say I had to buy my car a present. Scored a magnaflow exhuast for $120! Well, it was second hand off of my brother's deceased 98 firebird. Got it installed yesterday and it sounds amazing. The tips look awesome too. Sure went on a lot easier than the old one came off haha. Sorry, no sound clips. No pictures either. Useless thread I guess but I just wanted to share my excitement haha. BTW did you guys know that magnaflow has 2 hanger systems on the same system? This bolted onto my 94 from my bro's 98 no problem whatsoever.

magnaflow is the way to go! I have it on my 00 Ws6 and I had it on my 99 firebird. Great system!

I have magnaflow and enjoy the part that its stainless and shouldn't rust off but I dont like the sound too much, I'm not sure if I have a diffrent series than you cause I think its not loud enough. I really liked the 2 vortex's that I had previous to this, but they kept rusting out with in a couple years. They gave the car a nice deep sound and not the "beretta" or "3rd gen V6" sound.

How much did it cost to get it installed on your Camaro?

Never really like magnaflow on v6's. Only thing i've heard it on is 3.8's and it sounds like a weedwhacker unless cruising or idle. Definitley want to hear it on a 3.4 though.

Not too much, just the skin on my knuckles and maybe a little blood haha.

It's strange that a lot of you think it's too loud, I don't think it's loud at all. Of course, that's comparing it to my brother's trans am with a tsp rumbler haha. I hope the local police don't think it's too loud, they're kinda strict about that here in MA.

That sucks. Maine just dropped the law where your exhaust note couldn't exceed 11X decibels.. So now you can run open headers if your car is a 98 or older!! If its newer then you have to atleast have the catalytic converter on there for the smog testing for the new cars.

                              just some FYI

catalytic convertors are a federal thing and if your car is newer than mid 70's you are required by law to have it. So just because it can be loud, you stll have to have a cat, not that they will come check, but they could.
