  • WB o2 in HPTuners via EGR wire

Ok, I have a 1997 3.8 liter camaro. I know taht you can run the WB in HPTuners by hooking it up through teh brown wire from the EGR. It's sposed to be the brown one in the middle. So I did that, and the LC-1 WB is working when I use hte LogWorks2 program to read it, but when I try to use HPTuners it keeps saying "<unsupported parameter>"

the user defined PID is set up as follows:
    Name----LC-1 WB O2
    abbrv----LC-1 WB
    Sensor---Volts
    Units-----afr

    Funtion---([PID.2811/.6333])+10

Before i satrt scanning, the slot on the table says "LC-1 WB O2" Yet it keeps saying "<unsupported parameter>" on the table when I start to scan the vehicle. Plz help....this is annoying...

Also, I know that you can remove the EGR and disable the PCM from referencing the tables that have teh EGR active (and since it's not b/c you removed it you can suffer Knock and what-not) by tuning it so that the IAT is so high it wouldn't turn on, but doesn't it have to be on in order to use the brown EGR wire to tune with? Or would it still read the voltage from it?

what's your email, I might have a file you will like to see. It is the LC1 config file for the scanner to read the LC1, it has the PID made already. Give it a shot and see if it gives you a reading

Ha, yea. Aww man...i was gettin all excited thinking my problem was solved! Lol, drats. Well, I'll try some more in the morning. not only am i tired, but I also don't think my neighbors like the car starting up loudly at 1am...

but one more question. In the file from taht thread, when I open it, why does histogram number 7 have that red asterik by it?

Since pictures make things so much easier, this is what I mean

B/c I tried adding a PID to it, and teh asterik was still there. But my brain is shutting down, so i'll check back in to morning. Thx for helping!

Re: WB o2 in HPTuners via EGR wire

I think i found what the error was. I think I typed the function in wrong. Instead of "([PID.2811/.6333])+10" it should've been ([PID.2811]/.6333)+10" The []'s were off. So it seems to be working fine now :)
