You're not gonna hear a whole hell of alota difference in sound. Around 3k+ rpms you will hear some but it's nothing huge. I remember when I first got my whisper airlid.. I was hooked and now I've spent wayyy too much on my car. Eh well it's worth it in my opinion.
I replaced my air silencer with exhaust pipe and covered it in silicone to prevent heat soak. crazy loud. I can still hear it with the windows up and the radio turned up. I love it!
