so my cat is all clogged and stuff and i was reading and seeing that a bunch of people replaced them with glass packs. id ont know much about these, whats good/bad about replacing your cat with a glasspack? do they clog as easily as the stock cats? do they clog at all? is there any power gain? (im guessing no)

    thanks

i know i can just get a new cat. but is there any benefit to just getting a glass pack?

if i get a new cat, itll just get clogged eventually until i fix the problem. will a glasspack clog just as easily?

If you're clogging cats in that short amount of time you have other issues...

no i know it wont be a short time, i was being sarcastic.

i bought the camaro with a clogged cat, prolly took years. just the glasspack is cheaper and i was wondering if theres any benefit.

also. if you do get rid of the cat, what do you do with the post cat o2 sensor? just leave it or remove it?

just get a straight exhaust pipe

              leave the O2 sensor

if you're gonna remove the cat, a glasspack in it's place will definately help with rasp. and yes, you will make a little more power.

Will a glasspack take more of the rasp away than a highflow cat?

                    Re: glass pack vs cat

a glasspack will not pass an emissions test. an inspector would probably mistake it as a converter though. you could always cut off your cat; hollow it out, and weld it back on. your post cat o2 sensor will throw a code. they do make a sim for some year models that fool the sensor, or you could delete the code.

i have a glass pack in place of my cat, deffinatly takes out the rasp. even with headers it sounds pretty mellow with little to no rasp, with normal driving. if i get on it it gets nice and loud and sometimes i will get a little rasp around 5K
