96 firebird magnaflow exhaust fit on a 98-02?

So, this week has been a bad one for me. I'll start with what's not so horrible; I broke my ankle tuesday...Now for the bad news; My brother totaled my 96 firebird :(. But i do have good news; I'm on the hunt for a new firebird:rock:

This past summer I put a brand new 3 inch magnaflow exhaust on the 96. I was wondering if I should just strip the exhaust off before the insurance company takes my baby away from me? Also, would the 96 exhaust fit on a 98-02 firebird or trans am, as i am looking to get a 98-02?

id def cut it off and save it. as far as i know it should fit most f-bodies from cat back. sorry to hear about the car & the ankle.

I could be wrong, but I believe the only thing different is the hangers.
