Hey guys,
i just finished my intake and im now looking at exhuast systems. I would like to ask some of you guys to tell me what i shold go with. i have about $1200 and im willing to spend it all on the exhaust. My question is the best i get get for $1200. (headers-Back)
I was wondering that too. Hopefully I can generate some more dollars, and have a bit to spend on my car this summer. I need to do exhaust, but I'm not as much looking forward to it (except for headers, they're pretty tight), since I won't be welding it. I like parts I can install myself. Its kinda impersonal to buy crap and drive down to the muffler shop to put it on. I kinda like the way flowmasters sound, but I don't like hearing that they rust. The other options are more expensive, kind of a bummer since I also wanted to try some engine rebuilding and it looks like exhaust is going to wipe out my budget. How much is a cutout?
a cutout is a part of your exhaust pipe that when open, allows the exhaust to flow out freely, depending on where you put it, you could skip your whole catback. A lot of people have electric ones but there are manual ones too. The upside to a cutout is that its the most free flowing exhaust system possible- which is great (unless you've bought into the backpressure myth). The downside is that on our cars, it would probably sound like crap, though I hear if you leave it just crack open so that most is going through your muffler, it will sound good.
found one on ebay, manual, for $56 (including shipping). Hmmmmmmm
