uh okay. why dont water or nitrous damage it? and dont tell me its because they atomize...so does oil, much more actually.
Water does damage a MAF, if it hits the horsehair. Nitrous oxide behaves more like a gas/vapor than a liquid, like water or oil....After all, if you knew anything about nitrous, you'd know that it's purpose is to provide more oxygen to the mixture, not more fuel.

then go ahead and over-oil your filter. You'll be out more than $.02, since MAFs run about $60 or so
I swear, anyone who attempts to modify any car should be required by wherever they live to have basic education in physics and chemistry. And anyone who uses forums should be required to take a course in English or the language of their choice.
Theres way too much confusion in this thread.
I think its done.
There's no confusion in this thread .... It's simple common sense NOT to over oil the filter after cleaning ..... I believe I saw it somewhere (K&N box), where it says NOT to over oil the filter after cleaning .... if you don't overfill your gas tank or your oil crankcase, then DON'T over oil the da*n air filter ...
I gotta dig up some old motorcycle test on ram air. i think you guys would really be suprised to see how much of a differance they can make especialy the faster you get going. Of course it all tops out but once you build pressure inside your box its pretty impressive, yes they do make a difference. When I bought my zx-10r there was allot of talk about the ram air and the increase you see from going to aftermarket airboxes of diffrence sizes and composites. And there was allot of data to back up what they were talking about.
If you can get pressure in your airlid that is greater than the vacuum created by the cylinders, I'm thinkin that you'd have to be going pretty damn fast. Maybe faster than anything honestly useful in a 1/4 and to get that fast on the highway would just be stupid. But hey, I could be wrong.
