trying to figure something out

i took my cat off and weldied in a long red "Cherry bomb" glasspack muffler in place of the cat. i'm wondering if that glasspack is making my exhaust quieter than a regular straight pipe would? if it is then i'm gonna cut the glasspack off and put a straight pipe there.

yeah its a street car. i still have a full exhaust.. i have a flowmaster 80 in the back. i just replaced the cat with a glasspack because i didnt have any pipe to use.

yeah because cops do that, i daily drive my car with long tubes and no cat for awhile now.

i would of just used a piece of straight pipe.

i think you would definitely want to keep that glasspack since you got a flowmaster muffler

keep the glaspack in there it is going to absorb the high tones and the twang that the flowmaster tends to produce. it will sound alot better.

haha well your lucky. Most of my friends get pulled over and they HAVE mufflers and cats. However I think if you replace your cat with gp the cop is just going to laugh at you

once i get the money to buy the pipes that i need. gonna have to Flowmaster 40s in the back. hopefully it'll sound like a mustang with flowmasters. i cant stand the way my one inlet/dual outlet Flowmaster 80 sounds

:( I feel sorry for you and your car. You're wanting your GM F-Body to sound like a Ford Mustang? I'm guessing you're referring to the fox bodies everyone has. True Duals with flowmasters isn't going to sound anything like a V-8 Mustang. It'll probably sound simlar to your current set-up; I'd go with a different muffler. DynoMax, MagnaFlow, Cherry Bomb (muffler not GP), or Borla are probably your best bets.

i never said a v8.

i want it to sound like a car that has dual pipes ran to the back with 2 flowmasters and 0 cats. mustang was just an example. it just doesnt sound right with the 1 pipe running to the back.
