its going to be fun getting that driver side pipe over the axel and under the pan hard rod
That would probably be almost impossible. I'm going over the panhard rod and under the panhard rod brace. It is a tight squeeze but only because i'm lowered 2". Stock ride height vehicles would have a sh*t ton of room.
yeah, my previous exhaust I ran both pipes down the passenger side like your friend. I ran bullets up front and round dynomax super turbos out back. With my single 3" the bullet & dynomax super turbo sounded great. Not so with the dual exhaust. First, it was too much muffler and pretty quiet. Second, it just didn't sound very good. Maybe because the cross-over pipe was pretty short or the pipes leading to the h-pipe weren't equal lengths. Also the pipe lengths coming out of the muffler were different. Had great ground clearance though. Anyway, here's a great rendering of my previous exhaust.
I don't know if you looked into this or not or if you've already purchased the Magnaflow muffler but Dynomax has their Ultra Flo X-mufflers which are designed similar to their Ultra Flo SS mufflers. It's pretty close to the free-flow design of that Magnaflow muffler you are looking at and its good up to 545 HP. I think that muffler would cost about the same as two of those Magnaflows too. Dynomax is usually really good with prices. I personally like Dynomax better than any of the other exhaust companies that are comparable in price (i.e. Flowmaster, Magnaflow, etc.).
The muffler specs can be viewed here: http://www.dynomax.com/ecat/pdfs/ultraflox.pdf
Just thought I'd throw that out there in case you were interested.
1996 Polo Green Metallic Camaro:<br />SLP CAI, Carsound/Magnaflow 3\" in/out cat, Flowmaster 2.5\" cat-back... sounds great
yeah, thanks. i had looked into that muffler. I really don't think I need an x-pipe that far back. I decided that might not sound the best. and yes, dynomax is awesome.
Ok, got the o2 bungs welded in and it all painted up and put back on the car. Now I'm working on the rear section doing some test fitting. Here's a couple pics of the pipe over the driver's side axle.
