I have a 98 and I'm redoing the entire exhaust system in my car, I bought CIA headers and Y pipe and a magnaflow cat back kit. I have the cat back kit in my car now and I'm waiting on installing the headers until I figure this crap with the CAT out...
I want to do a CAT delete on my car, after talking to the auto parts guys and speaking with a fairly respectable muffler shop I was told that I'd wreck my motor and get gas in my oil from burning too rich... I have no idea as to how this would happen (considering cars didn't have CAT's before and they were fine then), but I got the same answer from two different sources.. Despite how rediculous that answer seems, I'm not so sure... Has anyone heard of this sort of thing happening with a CAT delete? If so, how can you counter it? Will it involve ECU tuning or is it something simple that I can do myself? What will it involve??
