I post on here to help, for some reason you are getting all pissy about it, you forget its is also my opinion and my years of experience with these motors and vendors.

you know its funny you are attacking me for the same thing, you admitted somewhere in the rambling to not take advice LOL

my motor was built by abbott and thus far i have not had any troubles, i know pat did and it sucked all around for that.

Yes I am friends with people be cause they gave me discounts I'm just that shallow. give me $1000 bucks and I'll be your friend to

lets see i wouldn't consider Abbott a friend, we never talked before he started doing heads and don't talk much right now. we alone talked about my motor and heads we where doing and that was it. we talked about track time because he had a lot invest into my heads including manely valves that he had not ran before.

I paid what everyone else would pay for my heads plus the manely valves and the motor it was $5500 for my motor and i set him all the parts including the cam and most everything. all he had to do was put it together p/p my heads/intakes. he did send me new bearing when the leaking intake port on the head caused damage to one of them like i explained before.

as far as pat and tiago i was friends with them, i did buy the kits from them but most where used already I paid full price for the under K kit that first was made. i bought pats old kit when he did the FFH the first time and sold the other one on ebay.

however we where not friends until I ran from a hurricane and pat let me stay at his place.

even after that I paid full price for my forward facing headers and cold side pipes $2500. I then had them coated on my own.

If you really must know my business

I for one don't care if anyone takes my advice or not, I report my advice comes on real world experience with my car, and those around me that i trust or have seen succeed and fail. could i make it an 8 second car if i wanted to ? yup, will I ? nope well maybe if i find the money and can have another fast car for the weekends lol

I was in over $25,000 trying to get this car to run 10's I think I could do it for About $10,000 knowing what i

the other things is if your going turbo why do you even give 1 **** about the long tubes? it really makes it look like you a just pissed at curtain sites or people and it really makes you look like a fool.
I gave my opinion on them and their are dyno's comparing the 2, your the one that stuck his head in the cookie jar and started talking crap , I don't really care how much you spent on your car , thats up to you. Change you sig looking for 8's then if you can make a 8 sec. car , you've had 10's on there for almost 10 years. Might as go with 6's while your at it, since your rambling on , go home FTV6.

Re: short tube headers vs. long tube headers?

Im not picking sides on any of this at all. BOTH Intense and Abbott have had their problems, as well as FFF and Tiago. No company is perfect by a longshot. The arguement can be had for the heads, primaries, and whatnot of headers and such. But the name-calling has to end now. Not going to let this **** boil over into some pissing match on this site again.

Keep it civil please, or Im going to start deleting posts. No need for it.

Re: short tube headers vs. long tube headers?

When I built my motor I got most of my new parts from Intense racing! That was 6 years ago!! How time flys!!

I think it comes down to 2 simple questions. Do the long tubes flow better then the shorties? and if so is it worth the extra money?

I had RK sport headers on my 98 and if they made long tubes back in 2002 when I bought my headers I would have probably got them instead of the shorty headers!!

later after a hard day of racing the valves seized in the head, weather or not i got the head to hot or the spacing was wrong we don't know but abbot fixed it and the bent valve for free.

intense will not care if you are fast or slow, Abbot text me to find out how it was running after every track day, and some times during the race.

            .

So your heads broke 2 times from Abbott? Its cool that they replaced it. They must have bought the new set of gaskets for the heads and intake and all the other gaskets needed to install a new head right? They must have also helped with the cost of the labor? They must have bought the oil and everything needed for the install also??

I had SSMS heads on my car. They were on Magnus car and I got them from him used. They probably had around 75,000 miles on them and between Magnus and me saw alot of track time ( magnus mostly) and Dyno time ( me). Got them for 500.00 shipped and was very satisfied with them!! Damn if they had HP tuners and I could actually adjust my RPM range and tune my car on the N20 I would have made over 415rwhp!! It sucks having a cam that peaks out at 6800 rpms but cant get past my stock rev limiter to use the additional power band!!

I hope Abbott would see how your car is running. After all there heads broke 2 times on you!!

Intense racing called me to see how my car was doing about a year after I orderd all my parts! Of course this was 6-7 years ago so I dont know if they still do the same..

only in the 1/8 mile and only car i can find on the internet that are street legal.

The track got hit by lighting the night before, they had race cars there tuning for the 1/8 mile. so they used all the sensors on the 1/8 mile and just put the time sensors out for the 1/4

Let me say this, NO aftermarket company that i know of will warranty all that stuff, they will warranty the parts from defect and that's it. after all they know your going to beat the **** out of it.

I reused all my gaskets and I do all my own work I was only out my few hours of time to pull the head and put it back in.

The first time, eather he took to much from the head or the head had was missed cast. when he inspected the head he found a pin hole the head was defective from the factory,

the next time it was hard to tell what happend so he siad if i paid for shipping he would cover the head ($50 vs $2000) what do you think i picked

that and my passenger side head was just fine
