I have a little extra money coming my way and decided it's time to deal with my post-cat exhaust leak and dying muffler. After some research I compiled a setup that I think will sound somewhat mild and not too obnoxious. Obviously stock is the best setup for a quiet and less raspy car, but I'm ready for an upgrade. Here it is:
CIA Headers & Y-pipe
3" Dynomax Bullet Resonator in place of catalytic converter (no emissions here)
ZZP O2 Sim
2.5" custom mandrel bent piping along with I-pipe, S-pipe, and Over-axle
Borla Pro XS Single In/Dual Out Muffler with tucked tips (I don't like tips showing underneath Camaros much)
What do you think? Shouldn't be too loud with the exception of being catless, right? I know some members have really liked that muffler, so I'm hoping it will be somewhat mellow. Especially since I live at the top of a hill. :D
I know that it's creating a bottleneck, but I just don't see the need for 3" exhaust on my currently stock daily driven car at the moment (no offense to anyone that is). I may look into putting in a mild streetable cam later on after all the supporting mods have been installed. But that's still not certain. My current goals for this car don't exceed that.
I'm going to have a friend that's a little more exhaust savvy install and weld this for me after piecing together all the piping. We can easily follow the directions on making an S-pipe, and can get this I-pipe, but does anyone any suggestions for sites that carry 2.5" over-axle pipes? Figured I'd try asking.
Any other suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
