I really need a sim, i have the P0420 code throwing up at me, ( i know its the cat ) but i just need this car to hold off until spring so i can purchase a newer car. Spending 200+ for (direct fit) cat doesnt seem suffcient right now. I have looked for the infamous Casper sim but i can not find any. I would like the check engine light to turn off, and i dont have anyone with HP tuners to program it out either. I have came across this and wondered if anyone else has seen them:
for anyone who cares, I bought the above item and so far it works, you just have to splice into the purple signal wire coming from your post o2 sensor. I will probably just gut my cat in a few months..
if your getting rid of the car, just go to autozone and use there's programmers to remove the error code just long enough to get it sold...sounds mean, but basically the way I see it, it's not your problems once you get rid of it.
yeah my cat is coming apart, when i hit it you can hear the peaces are broken... thats why i want to gut it, i know it will get clogged soon.... A new cat? whats the fun in that? :)
btw i spoke to soon, that above websites product has failed me, after i drove home from work (35 miles) my SES kicked on... i now have po144 and po147 codes.... po420 is still gone though.

If you clear the DTC, you still have to go through drive cycles. 8 perimeters that must reset to pass...when you clear the code, all 8 reset and you have to drive until they are ready. With that there's a chance p0420 might pop right back up during the cycle.
