okay so i have a K and N FIPK i bought it used on ebay and something happen a mixture of heat and overtoqtue maybe? caused the plastic intake pipe to buckle.. and the carbon fiber on the air filter to crack and deform causing a leak.. so i called them thinking i had a shot in the dar at getting it replaced.. they asked for pics so i took them and emailed it to the guy 3 days later brand new intake on my porch and didn't even ask for the old one back! he offered to send me everything a whole intake system radiator support and all.. but i told him i just needed the filter and tube with new couplers of course :D so k and n has that much more respect from me now!
K&N Rocks! I bought my filter used on ebay, but it didn't have the gasket. I called K&N to see it I could buy one and they just sent me one via 2 day FedEx for free.
after the issues at hand were corrected yes it was sold.. i wouldn't sell it while it was ****ed up.. also it went at such a low price i really didn't even have to fix it before i sold it.
bull**** dude mine was way worse than that...i mean the tube deformation was. u could stick a golf ball in the gap i had, called it in sent pics and nothing they never even replaced it so i bought a plastic heating gun and fixed it myself..i love k n but man that was crap on their part.

you must have done something wrong or talked to the wrong people i called and spoke with the guy too pics emailed them directly to him called back with my QA number and followed up and then they shipped my new one out.. it looks like this is a problem.. do you still have your pics.. i think i am going to call and talk to someone about it..
by straighting the plastic.. any k and n kit you buy will do this after it gets miles on it they give you a round hose clamp and you have to use it on a oval attachment.. the torque on the sides causes the weakest point to buckle.. it has been fixed and will be fine.. i am actually contacting k and n about this tomorrow to see how many complaints it takes to get something like this worked out..
