Im getting about 15 mpg in the city. Now as the title suggested I tend to have a lead foot not that I speed but I get up there very quickly mayb losing a bit of tire tread on the way there. Not only that but if i pass somebody its usually dug deep in the throttle. If I go on the highway and put cruise control I get bout 25 mpg doing 75 with an auto and 3.42's. The car has the cat removed and I cant find the harness for the ear o2 sensor on the pass side anyone know where the harness is? But anyway the other 3 are hooked up. Everything seems to be burning normal. my question was is 15 about normal for someone with a lead foot purely city driving. Will that o2 sensormake a HUGEdifference. Thanks Dan

Re: Lead foot= 15mpg?
If it is a rear O2 sensor, it does nothing for performance. Just monitors the cat. Not sure about the mileage ( i guess it sounds right), as I know there is no reason to get in a hurry and mash the gas all the time.'99 Mountaineer AWD 5.0 - 4300K HID, Some Bolt-ons

Re: Lead foot= 15mpg?
if you've got an 02 sensor missing, I wouldn't be surprised if your vehicle was stuck in open-loop mode. It would run in this mode (all of our do every day before they warm up, but the engine would not optimize your fuel/air mixture for best economy and power. You may not be able to figure our what's really going on without plugging up a scan tool and seeing what's on your car's mind.1997 Camaro, Y87 Perf. This is taken from Random Technology's website (a major catalytic converter maker).
Virtually all electronic engine control systems automatically adjust fuel flow to precisely maintain the chemically ideal air/fuel ratio of 14.7:1. However, automatic fuel adjustment only occurs during part throttle operation. Major exhaust system modifications-- such as removal of catalytic converters-- often requires reprogramming of the engine control computer to reestablish optimum air/fuel ratios at wide open throttle.

Re: Lead foot= 15mpg?
Ive got one in there I finally jacked up the car and poked around for the harness the guy before me installed it. You see when I bought the car it was ready for a turbo the pulmbing was all done the only thing I had to do was find a turbo and brackets. Unfortunetly I didnt have 2 grand. The car runs fine so I dont think the pcm was redone for the turbo however I have been driving nicer and its about 15 mpg mayb a tad more. however I also live in south florida ft. lauderdale to be exact and theres barely a .5 mile between traffic lights. Usually less...
