flowmaster or magnaflow?

So im gonna order a catback for my first mod and was wondering if anyone had an opinion on which sounds better, magnaflow or flowmaster? and does it make a difference if i get the headers or or exhaust first?

Your prob gonna hear a lot more votes for magnaflow. There are other options for a catback like the TSP catback that some people like. Its a good first mod and headers along with a high flow cat will give you a noticeable power increase. Also have u looking into a CAI for the car yet?

I looked at some cai but the slp one seems kinda steep, i think im gonna get it anyway once i get some more cash, we have pretty rough winters here in Nova Scotia so im not sure if its ok to have one on in the winter? So it doesnt matter which comes first,headrers or exhaust? in terms of install?

not really. the exhaust would be less time consuming if that helps any...

I posted recently on my experience installing a stock z-28 intake on my car. I think it'll give you most of the performance of a CAI for less than $50 and you won't have to worry about it in bad/harsh weather. (I'll post actual RWHP gain curves as soon as my new G-Tech pro SS arrives in the mail.)

In my opinion as an engineer, adding a cat-back without doing SOMETHING about the restrictive stock intake will be shooting some of your performance potential in the foot.

well you could get headers first and then get catback later and pretty much be done with it. but if your getting catback............... MAGNAFLOW FTMFW!!!! i had the same questions about it before i got it. i had flowmaster on my last car and my magnaflow on my camaro sounds alot better. trust me youll love it

3 hours at the most... just a tip: cut the original pipe while the muffler is still on hangers.
