cat question

My cat is going out and i'm looking for a new one. I've seen the carsound one that's suggested for our cars, its a 2.5 in/out. However, iirc, our Y pipe is a 3in right? So should i get a 3.0in/2.5out instead? Also, i've been thinking of a new S pipe, i'm still using the stock 2.25 with a 2.5in magnaflow catback, however the I pipe of the magnaflow reduces to 2.25 to attach to the stock s pipe. Would i really gain anything from switching to a 2.5in s pipe just to have it reduce to 2.25 again to attach to the i pipe?

get the 3" in/out cat, and take it to an exhaust shop. Have them weld you together a new 3" s-pipe and get rid of the 2.25" part of your magnaflow. The shop will mate the 3" s-pipe up to the 2.5" magnaflow with a reducer. Yes it is worth it.
