Hi everyone, I finally stopped lurking and decided to join up. My 1st post is a question I'm hoping some of you have some experience with, single exhaust all the way back.
I have a 99 camaro convertible with a 3.8 v6, it currently has a transverse muffler (1 in, dual tail pipes) but I have heard that this is an ineffiecient design. I'm exploring the possibility of eliminating the transverse muffler and replacing it with a universal Borla or Dynomax so the system is 1 single pipe and 1 resonated tail pipe. I want to retain the cat so it would be from the cat back. Anyone do this mod already? What diameter pipe should I use, current 2.25 or 2.5 from cat back? Anyone currently using a Borla or Dynomax muffler on their v6? I want to avoid the dreaded ricer sound at all costs.
Any help will be graetly appreciated. Thanks for helping the "new guy"!
