If I had a V8 , I would hope it would sound better than that , or maybe it was just the recording. Most of the modded ones hear are just deep muscle sounding. Like when I first heard Meatyshells car with his loudmouth exhaust, that was outstanding, but you couldn't talk while he was moving it was so loud and sounded like a modded V8. Too loud for me , and I think he said it was too loud for him so he got those resonators/baffles for the tail pipes which made it quieter and also still sounded outstanding. Also adjustable which is pretty cool.

Why would I need to post a sound clip for a newbie that apparently doesn't know sh!t about what he is talking about. Did you check out the other site where there is a video and sound clip of a 3" Summit turbo muffler with a 3" turn down , with 3" dynomax mandreal bent pipes over the axle. Also did you read the threads on it. It looks like you didn't so before you say someone should post somehting DO YOUR RESEARCH & SEARCH before posting stupid crap. Why would I lie and say these mufflers don't rasp?, it wasn't even a ebay muffler,a( Summit turbo/Dynomax turbo muffler) So you don't even know what your taliking about? Answer: Because I wouldn't lie there is no need too, when everyone that has had the same muffler posts about it doesn't rasp and it actually too quiet for their tastes. Just because you have a stock V6 with no mods don't hate the ones who mod theirs and have good results. MIKE1stcamv6 needs to post pics of his setup(if he has a Camaro?) My guess it is a 85' Civic. hey guys, looks like I missed alot. Anyways, I have a 97 firebird all stock with 73,000 miles, I was thinking about going with cai and a flowmaster catback with a high flow cat, but now I'm not so sure. Yoi guys got second guessing myself. what ya'll think?
I wouldn't go with a flowmaster, the 2 mufflers I have had good results with: with my current setup a 3" exhaust, VS cam, RK sport headers I have ran a ($25)Summit Turbo mufffler 3" in/out has 2 1/2" inside casing with 3" turn down going out back. Has a mellow tone but sounds good, no rasp up to 6000 RPMS. Then I just got the ($65)Dynomax Turbo muffler 3" in/out has 3" inside casing with 3" turndown behind DR side rear tire , Nice idling sound, deeper, louder while crusing than the Summit turbo, feels like it flows better than the Summit turbo, no rasp up to 6000 RPMs. I like it better than the Summit , but for less than $25 you can't beat the price of it if you can't afford a better quality muffler. I will still keep it , just as a back up. Those are my 2 top mufflers. Those are my personal experiences with those mufflers, the flowmaster 40 and 80 series I had were bad on rasp. But were good at idle. I'm going to delete my other educational respones to the idoit troll hanging around. I hope it was entertaining. LOL

So your saying that I shouldn't go with a cat system but with a different muffler. I really don't know about headers, I have had them on my v8 cars and they were a pain, bolts were always loosening up. Does a muffler or catbacck system actually get you more hp? Please keep in mind for this year I have about 900 to spend on the car and I already know that I have to get cai

Why spend the money on an aftermarket exhaust system if you're going to run the stock exhaust manifolds? Assuming your car's a 97, it has the restrictive log-style manifolds. To get the full effects of a free-flowing exhaust, you'll want to get some headers. The bolts should only be loosening up for the first few months or couple hundred miles. After that, they should be fine. Or just get some locking bolts.
You could find some used pacesetters for a decent deal on here and pieced together with the muffler/piping combo that ssms5411 mentioned earlier, could have full exhaust for a good price.

I am considering a headers down the road, for right now I really want dual exhaust that sounds good. I won't make a move until I am 100 percent sure that I am making the right decision though. You guys are really helping me out.
