For those that have CIA headers, and do not like using the paper gaskets, I found gaskets that fit perfect. Here is a link to pics of the new and old gaskets. I used the paper ones once, but it didn't take long for them to blow out, then I used some Z28 gaskets that had to be drilled to fit, and yeap... caused small leaks, but didn't blow out. New gaskets fit 100% perfect.
Re: Replaced header to Y-pipe gaskets for CIA Headers
I just used some copper gaskets from Summit. But there is still a small leak, so these might make a difference. Although I'm not fully convinced the y-pipe is properly lining up.
Re: Replaced header to Y-pipe gaskets for CIA Headers
yeah, the bolts are plenty long enough. The gaskets and bolts both fitted perfect. Plus using the high temp copper gasket RTV, should do the trick. I'm letting it set for 24 hours before I start the car up. It recommends on the high temp RTV to let it set for 24 hours.
Re: Replaced header to Y-pipe gaskets for CIA Headers
I use copper 3 bolt flange gaskets along with Copper spray sealant and I have no problems with mine. My last set held up 8 years before they started to go bad.
