  • Headers coming in and new exhaust setup

so i ordered my headers and my cutout for my new setup, and i just realized that the collecters are only 2.5" for all the aftermarket headers, why is that when the stock size is 3"? i already ordered 3" muffler and cutout

are they pacesetter? cause if they are, then the collector is 3 inch.

The collectors (arms) of the y-pipe shouldn't be 3". They're typically something like 2.5" until they merge at the "y section" that connects to the catalytic converter. Where the collectors merge at the Y and after should be 3" piping.

          Stock is the same way.

the end of the y-pipe is 3". You don't put the muffler or cutout on the collectors

Why? So you can have a fraction of an inch of space between the road and your car? Or, do you want to drop your y-pipe every time you do an oil change, since having a y-pipe that large running on a V6 would cause interference with the drain plug?

what the **** are you talking about? the y pipe its self isnt 3" just the collecter, how in the world would that effect the oil drain plug

ya, from the y pipe back, how does that effect the oil drain bolt?

                        thats what i said.

fondle- the collector at the y-pipe is 3 inch. if you run 3 inch pipe from there back, then you can put your cut out somewhere in the I-pipe.there is no problem here at all.

Everything from the y-pipe back CAN be 3 inch if you ordered it all 3 inch!
