Re: Headers coming in and new exhaust setup

Yeah, all of the headers come with 2.5" from the headers, most have to but their own 3" Y pipe if they are going 3" from the Y back. Fondle if you need a 3" Y , I have a brand new flowmaster Y 2-2.5" to 3" , I was going to use it with my turbo, but bought a oval Y pipe to go with my oval piping. $25 shipped. I paid $45 shipped I think. PM me.

No, this is what you were saying
the y pipe its self isnt 3" just the collecter,
...either way, you really don't know what you're talking about. Mainly, stop using technical terms willy nilly; you've used the term "collector" to describe 2 different parts of the y-pipe interchangeably, whereas the term "collector" only corresponds to one part of the y-pipe. As stated before by many members and myself, you don't put your cat/rest of your exhaust at the collector (which is located from the end of the primary and leads to the merge). The cat goes on the end of the y-pipe, which on the pacesetters headers, is 3". Your main problem is that you lack the basic, real familiarity with the hardware in question, so you should probably stop posting until you actually buy the pacesetters headers and have them in your hands.

fondle- before smoke rips you another a**hole do some reading on the pacesetters...the y-pipe is 3" like he said, and will connect with a 3" in/out cat and run to a 3" s-pipe/intermediate pipe catback, thus, you'll have your 3" exhaust.

exactly what my setup is: pacesetters w/ 3" y-pipe, 3" in/out cat, custom 3" s-pipe, 3" stainless cutout before the rear axle on the i-pipe, and 3" borla catback.

          you'll be fine man.

Got ya covered there. Kind of hard to read the font, but it works.

                To the OP:

These aren't specifically Pacesetters, but they have the same measurements (possibly with the exception of the primaries on the headers, but I don't remember the specifics). The end of the headers and the collectors on the y-pipe are 2.5", much like the stock 3.8 setup. The end of the y-pipe that hooks up in line with the cat is 3". Unless you somehow ended up with a header and y-pipe combo for a 3.4 (2.5" y-pipe end), I think you may be confusing terms or reading incorrect info.
