Modded my air lid

[SixShooter'00Camaro]

So i had some free time this weekend and decided to cut all thos ribs out, then sanded it and sanded it with a smoother grit and washed it about 5 times. I think it came out pretty good and i noticed a little bit of a difference (performance wise, nothing huge of course) so i though I'd share with you guys. It'll do fine untill I order a whisper lid.

good work, definitely a worth-while free mod. make sure you rip out that useless air silencer and do the pvc intake mod too. i did that before i got my lid and it worked out great.

when you're ready for a lid, check out hawksthirdgenparts.com---they still have 'em.

Thanks, yeah for sure it is. Oh Ill look in to that, I'm going to search for it but Ill ask anyway, is there a thread on it?

haha yeah dont get me started on how many threads there are on the whisper lids.

3" pvc that's about oh..4 or 5 inches long. and then two clamps. piece of cake.

although i would spray paint it black before putting it on, that way it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb when you open your hood. i have yet to do that :p

yeah you can paint it or do whatever to make it your own. personally, i signed mine when i had it in lol:

oh and as for the sensor, do i just cut a hole and fit it in there?

yep. that's one of the frustrating parts but can be done no problem. just cut a small place and wiggle it in.
