I was just reading on ls1tech.com that the tr6 is not the plug you should use for nitrous. Thy said you should use something in the heat range of 7. This is all over there board that's why I asked that q about the plugs earlier. That is plastered all over there forums. What do y'all think?
for large shots yes the colder plug is better, but for a v6 car with 50-125 shot, the TR6 is the way to go. We all have been running them for years on our nitrous cars.
Alright sorry for all the questions. I am going to run the tr6. As you can see i have been doing plenty of research. I am just not wanting to screw anything up and want to make the right decisions.
Purge, Heater, and Pressure Gauge are MUSTS for a wet kit. If you wanna go cheap, go dry.
Also, you need to drill your throttle body or intake for a wet kit. You can't place a wet nozzle in front of the MAF sensor. I'd highly recommend a dry kit for a n00b.
Have any other mods? Done your fuel filter recently? Miles on the car?
I already ordered the kit with a blow down tube and a spare tire mount. Once I get this paid for I will order a purge, nitrous filter and either the new nano technology or a bottle heater. I am going to do a big build after this semester is done in college. Full out cam swap and nitrous, and exhaust. I will be maiking a build thread.
I already have a window switch. The kit is suppose to be here friday but that doesn't matter because it won't be installed for a couple of months.
I also can change that fuel filter in less than 5 minutes. The miles are 165k and counting. Will probably be more like 171 or 172 when I do all the work. I drive a 80 mile round trip everyday to college. I am going to do head gaskets, lifters, springs, modded retainers, valve seals, timing chain and alot more stuff. I may even change my mind and just do the nitrous kit and then swap a ls1 into it. I have been buying cam parts and nitrous parts for the last month though or two. We will see. The nitrous I know I will be keeping. I just have been finding a hard time dumping all this money in a v6 when I could get an ls1 motor in with a new tranny for around 1500 to 2k. I mainly kinda want to build this car and then build a new camaro after I am done with this one.
skip the nano and just go with a bottle heater unless you are going to be laying into the bottle all the time. The occasional track visit wouldn't warrant spending the money on the nano
The new Nano is only 299 shipped. And the bottle heater that I want is 150 plus shipping. I don't know if you have researched this stuff. But with a bottle heater you don't get the full 1100psi down the track the whole time you use nitrous. It fades. With the Nano you do. The draw back to the Nano is that it will go empty. The good about the bottle heater is that it is electrical and always work unless something happend to it. So there are pros and cons to both systems. I will probably go with the bottle heater. I wish I could find a brand new one somebody never used and needs to get rid of for a nice price.

nope, never researched it at all, just giving blind advice, lol. Of course I have, remember I am the one with two stages of nitrous on my engine and already been running nitrous for years. I remember when nano just started taking off in the ls1 community. So yes I have looked into it and researched it for our v6 cars and the size shot you plan on running it is not worth it. Once you start getting into the big shots of nitrous then nano comes into play like the ls1 guys have.
Thanks for the links bigbrian. I am sticking to HSW products for everything except the ashtray switch which will be a nitrous outlet one. I am not trying to insult you 97rslife. I just have researched alot on this nitrous and that nano seems like the way to go even though it cost alot more. I will probably go with a bottle heater even though I have said what I have said. It's just more cost effective to. I do use the advice everyone gives me so don't take this the wrong way. I have researched the dynotune bottle heater and it does seem like a good one. I just am going to go with all HSW products to keep it all at one place so if something went wrong they know all their products.
by the way that Purege kit is cheaper their then on their website.
Yep will that kit include everything I need to hoo kit up? On their website it says soemthing about I might need a 6an bottle nut(I emailed them tonight but they haven't replied yet). My kit I ordered is 4an all the way through or at least I am thinking.
