  • Mounting N2o bottle

Has anyone ever mounted there bottle(s) ontop of the gas tank inside the car? How would I drill holes without hitting the gas tank? I want to mount 2 bottles and thats the only place biig enough. How would I do this without hitting the gas tank?

I have seen it done at ls1.com. Do a search.

Why put two bottles up there when one big one would fit in the trunk?

There's probably an inch or so of spacing between that board and the gas tank. Ask Min what he did cause that's where he mounted his bottles. That's where I want to do mine too.

I think min has his bolted on that piece that covers the trunk, its just laid over the gas tank.

That set up (mounting the bottles there) is by far the most intimidating thing to see when you pull up behind the person :D
            I hope this link works:

I know this is not exactly what you wanted but it is a nice idea

Ok then thats that. I am going to mount two bottles in that spot. I think that would look nice and its not too far out of reach. What would a cop do if he seen those when he pulled me over?

I do have my bottle mounted on the back shelf area. There is about 1 inch between the bottom and the gas tank. Just be very carefull when you drill holes. I cut the ends off the screws so the would be flat and hit flush against the gas tank and not puncture a hole in it. It does look very intimidating. I haven't mounted my 2nd bottle yet, still waiting for another set of brackets and the stuff connect them to arrive.

Yes if a cop pulls you he will see the bottles very easily unless you have like 5% tint.

yeah, i have mine mounted there, its on the flap, like tiago said, the only problem ive had is when i get on the brakes, the bottles sometimes fly forward and land in the back seat :( i fixed that by velcroing the flap to the car. if you put the bottles there, you can just reach back and open the bottles too.

i have some pics here :

That is where I mounted my bottle.

                      Use short screws!

I always liked the between the rear seats look. Saw it on an LS1. Looked killer

I am about to get mine and I was gonna install it where my spare tire was. Do you have to get some special brackets to mountit there. I also wanted to run the blow down tube right behind the rear tire as well. Anybody done this?
