dual-stage nitrous setup

I think the setup up of a dual stage system requries another set of selinoids(sp?) and some other stuff. I personally think you would be better off going with a NX Maximizer wich is a progressive nitrous controller so you can controll how much nitrous is being injected into the car at diffrent rpms etc.

Well for a single stage you just have one hit of the button.
For a dual stage (anyone see fast and furious?) you have a second button to hit.
Basically you run two lines with two sets of solonoids.

And the point of having to hit two buttons would be? With the nx kit or nos 5175 kit for example once the nitrous is activated you are injecting nitrous as long as you are at wide open throttle.I sorry if I'm missing the point of the dual stage thing, but feel free to clairify.94 maro
mods? ummmm..... one or two.
some people see the bottom of our soceity as a product of the system,But the system is a product of our society. Dual stage... I have thought about this.. Oh yes..
"Hey, wanna race? I only got a V6... 500 bucks heads up"
Hmm.. stage 1... oh yes.. oh no.. he's catchin up.. oh yes.. stage 2.. c ya..
"Gimme mah money."
With a dual stage, you can spray lets say a 75 shot for stage 1.. then you have a second stage.. when you hit that second button (if you do).. you can add another 75 HP..
Its kinda like having 2 nitrous systems. Its what street racers do. Its an easy way to only use as much nitrous as you need to..
Sometimes people also do it to prevent traction issues.. spray a 50 shot off the line and the 100 shot a car out or so. I would just tell those people to get more tire though.Keith - Chicago
HP Tuners - PCM Reprogramming
97 Firebird V6 to LS1 swap
V8 9.967@132.78 1.322 60\' NA Heads/Cam
V8 10.295@128.48 1.363 60\' NA Cam Only
V8 10.987@119.31 1.422 60\' NA Stock Internals
V6 13.674@98.22 NA
V6 12.394@104.91 N20 100HP

wouldnt it just be easier to run a progressive controller that allows you to fine tune the amount of nitrous thoughtout the rpm band?94 maro
mods? ummmm..... one or two.
some people see the bottom of our soceity as a product of the system,But the system is a product of our society. Sounds like a great way to blow a stock 3.8 V6 motor to shreds!! 2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph

Dual stages:
Yup typicall done with 2 sets of solenoids.
Some hard cores run a 50 or 60 small dry shot then for a second stage they would have a 100 wet.
Or have you ever seen dual direct port staged systems?
Now that is a sweet set upRace car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6

but since I have a manual I let off the gas a little in between shifts. That would shut off the nitrous, right? I just want to get to the next gear and not shut off the nitrous. I could let the other car I'm racing leave me sittin there and then smile as I fly by him at the end!!

You must be careful.
Sure you could power shift on the bottle in between shifts but if you miss a gear then boom happens!!!!
It is advisable to let off the nitrous in between shifts to save your engine.
My suggestion is to have a button mounted to the shifter handle and when you go to shift let off the button, shift, then once you are sure you are in gear hit the button.
