1 gallon high oct fuel tank?

I talked about this with some V8 guys but they did not answer my questions so I will ask here. Thinking about N20 for my camaro. I hate the thought of running high oct fuel if i'm not going to be on the N20 all the time. Would you be able to mount a 1 gallon tank filled with 93 oct fuel in your car with it hooked up to your wet kit so that when you hit the N20 you get high oct fuel while you run low 87 oct for normal driving. The V8 guys said something about mixing different octain was bad but I can't see why that would be if its ok to fill you tank with half 87 and half 93. Has this come up before here? Sorry if it has. In my mind it seems to work but, yes, believe it or not I have been wrong before ;) . Any way to get this to work?

Sure you car will be fine running a mix of 87 and 93.

I can buy 91 octane around here. :cool:

I'm surprised they didn't help you as I know I have seen this very topic discussed several times. Yes it can be done and has been done by several people. I THINK Jordan Mussar(sp?)on CZ28.com has done it...could be wrong, but I know a number of people did post that they had.
One popular method is to replace the windshield washer reservior with a small fuel cell. Some others have put a 1 gallon cell in the back. And I believe that most of those people are running race gas (higher than 93 octane).

Of course you can mix octanes.
Typically either the windshield washer resevoir or battery (moved to the trunk) are switched for a 1 gallon fuel cell.
It must have a fuel pump.
Typically power adder cars run a race gas (higher than 93) in the cell.
Personally if I was going to juice a car I would never run 87 at all.

i dotn see how it would help that much at all?? You would have 87 in your tank, puting that to your cylanders, then the wet shot would spray a higher octane, why not just buy 91? seems like it will be a lot of work just to fill it up a few times

Why? Money, thats why. I live in CA and the price of gas is very high. Last year it was as high as 2.50+ for 91 oct down the street. Thats 35 dollars to fill up my tank! I don't have a lot of money so every penny counts. What if I can't use my N20 for a while, I'm stuck driving around with gold gas. Thats money I don't have to spend. My brother just informed me the this same topic is going on in a mustang MB so i'm not the only guy who is thinking about it. I would like to try it someday. Yes, its different but wouldn't you like to save money? I know I'm not the only one who saves every penny and reuses toilet paper :D J/K

Besides saving money, you could also fill this separate fuel cell with, say, 110 octane race gas...if you are running a big shot of nitrous, I would think that would be an extra safety measure to protect your engine.

Oh yea I would not stop at pump gas. BTW I was joking about the TP thing.
