Ok, I really should put a disclamer on my web site.

When you port the TB like that, you MUST remove that backing plate. If you do not you will run lean at WOT. I have left the plate on and I didn't even register .100 O2's. :(

When you take off the plate though, the entire PCM will get messed up. Cold starts will be EXTREMELY rich because the PCM uses the MAF readings (which will increase by 50%) until the O2's are warm enough to be used. Idle will also be richer than normal.

I noticed after I ported my TB, my nice and shiny B&B TriFlo exhaust tips became black.

Also, if you leave that plate on and you are running lean.. adding nitrous will not help.

Make sure you have some method of scanning the O2's to determine if your running lean or not.

I do NOT recomend porting the TB on a daily driver. I also recomend you have a scan tool and understand how the air/fuel system works before you drastically change how the MAF sensor picks up air.

With the plate on the back, I saw 21lb/min max readings, after I ported, with the plate on I saw 16lb/min and ran VERY lean.. after I took the plate off I saw 28lb/min and was fine.

Wot LTFT's will go from approx 1.6 or so to -12% or more.

I'll reply to your e-mail here to clear up any confusion.

Your TB port job looks fine. The plate should NOT be in there. If you put that plate in there chances are you will run lean. Rich on startups is a normal side effect of the ported TB.

You are not screwed and don't worry about the plate. Just leave it off. ;)

For the broken fuel fitting, you may have to remove the nozzel all together and put in a new one. Next time don't tighten them down so much.

JB Weld isn't a hot weld so it will break free under torque. I was able to remove both of my nozzels that were JB Welded on. Just be careful and the weld will crack. THen you can use a screwdriver and scrape off all the remaining weld from the TB so its clean when you put in your new nozzle (If you have to do that).

Well I got a little update...

I took the tb back off and used a stripped screw back out tool to get the piece that was still stuck in the nozzle. It came out real easy. I took the other side out pretty carefully and used that to find a new one. I went down to the local performance shop to get another one and they said that NX does service that part but they would have to order it. :sigh:
The guy did wonder however how in the world I managed to break the damn thing in the first place. I ordered two just in case. I am gonna replace both of them to be safe.
Because I couldnt use the system as of now I was checking for any other leaks along the system. I found that no matter how hard I tightened the filter that I had going into the solinoid it would not stop leaking. issed: I tightened it so muck that it broke under pressure in my face. It was pretty crazy.
I went down to the same store and showed him the filter and he immediatly asked where is the rest of it. Basically I was missing a part that would have sealed it off. Instead I bought a new NOS filter with the mesh inside the actuall fitting.
As for running rich at startups... man you scared me magnus. I thought I was done for. I can live with that. I am about half way through with the install write up so I will post when its ready.
Thanks again for everyone's help.
