Im helping set up a NX wet kit, and was wondering how any of you that got the jet tapped into the TB, either by a machine shop or by yourself, got it sealed in there? Im supposing you either use teflon or something else to get a good seal. I've seen the JB weld jobs, but i think getting threads put in there will be much stronger and easier to remove if needed. Thanks
-Also, how hard is it to remove the Tb to take it to the machine shop? Do you need to replace any gaskets?

i bought a gasket to go between the tb and the intake. I recommend it. I did one of the jb weld jobs. I thought about putting the nut thingy that comes with the kit but it just didnt look like it would hold a good seal. I am still working on the install page for the kit. Its on my site.
I saw your install page Andy. It helped a lot, thanks. What is the "nut thingy" your talking about? I want to actually use a tap to make threads in the hole, and screw the jet in, that should be a good seal. Any other suggestions/experiences? Thanks,
The kit came with a part that would allow you to simmply drill a hole and install this piece and it would allow you to install and remove the nozzle via threads. On both pieces there is a nut. On one side it has an extension that would go through the tb wall and allow the other nut to screw on to the end of that. leaving you threads on the inside to screw in the nozzle.
Look at this link. http://www.nitrousexpress.com/efi_a.gif in the bottom right hand corner you see two aluminum pieces. thats them. If I had time to take pictures with the digital camera I would. Hell I dont even remeber where I put the thing.
Sorry

If I'm not mistaken, that part (TB) is aluminium, as is the part that would screw into it... Unless you're the tap-master, I would let a machine shop do it. That type of tapping requires lots of oil and there's a risk of gauling them up if you do it by hand. (as opposed to a tap press)
If you do decide to do it by hand, be VERY CAREFUL.
Good Luck!

I see what you mean now Andy, and i can see how that might not be that great.
And I also had thought of the fact that tapping by hand might not be that easy. Ive done it on bolts for a bike axle, but I only had about 300 of them laying around to mess up and try again with. Machine shop would be the best i suppose. Thanks guys, any other advice?
it was way easier to do the jb weld then try and tread the thing. Like Brian said, if your not a tap master than you might want to steer clear of all that work!

Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
