  • To the track... revisited

After last weekends performance at rcr I couldnt stand that all I got was a 14.1. I knew the car had more in her and I couldnt take it. So... we go to Houston Raceway Park in baytown tx where the weather was a mear high 60 low 70 degrees. winds from the south. clear skies. I pull up to make an all motor pass and got a little spinage and bust out a 15.7. A tenth slower than my best. The next time around I was thinking damn the lines were pretty long I better go ahead and spray. So I did! On my bridgestones I did a little burnout and staged. Not really thinking about anything but the launch I saw the third amber and bam I was gone. Spraying out of the hole I got no spin and all hook. I got a little rough with her and pushed her to the limit. It was the sweetest the car has ever felt. then I start shaking.

I pull up to the both and the woman starts *****ing that I dont have a helmet and as I grinned from ear to ear I assured her I would get one next time. I knew I had it at that moment. Sure enough there it was.

    13.829 @ 97.65 mph w 1.8 60'

Never been so happy in my life.

I was running my street tires (bridgestone potenzas re730's) at 24 psi. The tires were practically brand new. The weather was about 68 degrees I think. It wasnt on the slip. It really was a beautiful day for racing. I was still running the 75 wet NX shot. I dont want to move on until I get the hypertech pump installed. The time slip reads like this.

        car: 263
        dial in:
        r/t: .699
        60': 1.892
        330: 5.736
        1/8: 8.852
        mph: 79.70
        1000: 11.545
        1/4: 13.829
        mph: 97.56

I really had a fun time in houston and will be back very soon. Maybe for the shootout. :) Wish I could have meet some folks there but the board was down and I couldnt see anybady's posts or email addys.

I posted my time to the timeslip section but it hasnt been updated. Anybody know who to tell to get that rolling? I need to scann the whole thing soon because my girl is gonna make a frame and stuff for a picture of the car and the slip. :)

Josh, the pics of the harnesses, if thats what you are talking about, are on my website. I think there is a problem with it right this second but I will fix it in like two seconds.

Slacker, I am having some tranny/clutch trouble right now but I am getting it fixed. My goal is to be in houston on the 24th yes! And I would love to play with someone on the same level as me instead of getyting drilled by my roomate. :) Damn ws6 bastard! ;)

ProjectRS, The kit will get you there no problem man. Just gonna start having to pay more attention to traction. :)
