You sure it was a backfire? Pull your plugs and see if any are damaged.

Sorry, I missed the pics earlier!

Holy Cow!!!

Min, just hope the lid is your only problem...

I'd double check your MAF sensor..

Mike Huff had several problems after his backfire and he was very upset about it.. He had to replace his MAF sensor as well as his fuel injectors.. It seems the heat caused by the backfire was enough to melt some of the injector tips... his car would barely run.

Good luck Min.

Ouch! That looks nasty like mine. Judging from the degree of burn on the plastic yours looks as bad as mine was. Check your MAF sensor first and see if it got fried. If it's toast and you need a new one let me know I have the part #. Also check all your sensors, MAP, IAC, TPS, and IAT. Pull your TB and make sure the blades are not bent. My injectors got busted too, I think it was from the excess pressure in the intake, they were not melted but they leaked like a mofo.

Does the car run? Keep us posted and if you need help do not hesitate to post or send me an e-mail. It took me a month to figure out all my problems. I can save you a bunch of time. Here are my backfire pics:

First congrats :D
You have graduated to the hard core nitrous level people.
We have my nitrous explosions on video at the track.
Was this a wet 150 shot?
check the plugs and all the other parts everyone else listed.
I atempted 3 runs one day at the track.
1st one there was a small nitrous backfire
2nd one was a bigger back fire
3rd and final was a huge backfire which blew a 3 inch hole in my rubber elbow on the slp intake. It also blew my mat sensor out, nitrous nozzle out and a huge nitrous cloud came out from all 3 sides
Cool stuff but scary
Be careful and lower that shot

yeah, thanks everyone :D

i checked everything and everything was fine, all that happened was i melted my iat sensor. i already ordered a new lid since my old one was blown apart into like 5 peices  i also have to order that part that your lid sits on top of, and probably a new filter since it got burnt in some places and melted some of the rubber but other than that the car is fine :D

Man, Some people are plain stupid... what the hell did you expect to happen? the max (on the boards) on a stock internal is what; 120shot? "Ah well hell lets go ahead and throw 150shot on it!" What's the resoning in that? Is this a daily driver or a car you just wana destroy? Did you do any research about your car and Nitrous!? To me WET = BACKFIRE Especialy at 150 shot! OMG! I can see maybe 100, but why take the risk? and the comment about this guy being a true NOS user or what ever; that makes no sense. Do i have to completly be an idiot and spray a 150 wet shot on a stock 3.8 to be a TRUE man... jesus people take it easy on the nitrous!

Hey man why dont we give MIN a break. He is the first to use a 150 shot on the 3.8. So how was he supposed to know it wouldnt work. I dont know of anybody else that has attempted this. I think its great that he took a chance even if it meant nitrous backfire. He's just raising the bar and setting the limitations of our 3.8 v6's.

Eh, I've actually sprayed well over 30 bottles thru my car without it backfiring once and yes I did research it. And no, I didn't go 'oh, I'm going to throw a 150 shot on my car' I started off at a 50 shot, went up to 75, then 100 then 150. And it is my car, if you dont like what I do with it, too bad ;)
