I have a lot of questions before my dad and i install the 5175 NOS kit. ok......

1.) where should i mount the spray nozzle?(before the air temp sensor?)

2.)in the manual it says something about drilling the banjo fitting so the fuel press safty switch can be taped. do i have to do this on a 3.8L? Im not sure what its telling me to do.

3.)this has to do with #2, I cant find the
(1/16" NPT tap) or the (1/8"NPT FE x 1/16" NPT ML)
in my kit. it says i have to use one of these to tap into the Banjo fitting.

4.)How can i mount the WOT switch to the engine?

5.)Why do i have that 90 degree pipe?

6.)Is there anything that i need that isnt in the kit? like sealant or anything?

Thanks for any help. Im doing this in two weeks im just trying to work out everything that i dont know. If there is anyone that can answer any of these i would be very greatful.

thanks again.

your dad is helping you install the kit? that kicks *** :D

1.) all the ls1 guys aroung here iwth NOS dry kits have it mounted before the IAT, i think it should be the same.

2.) i think its talking about your fuel rail, you need to attach the fpss to the schrader valve on the fuel rail after you remove the valve stem so it will know what your fuel pressure is at (its on the passanger side)

3.) i think those are the fittings that attach your fpss to the fuel rail

4.) dont know, didnt use one :D

5.) again, i dont know

6.) you will probably need some teflon paste, if you already dont have any

have fun spraying

1) mine is before the mat sensor.
Take a look in the link in my sig. There is a pic of my set up.
2)banjo??? Are you in a band? :D Take a look on the passenger side of the engine. Up top on the fuel rail you will see a black cap. Unscrew it and remove the schrader valve and screw on the fpss switch. Just remember to do this after the car has sat overnite preferebly or fuel psi will be high and squirt out :(
3)Um, I got any extra connection parts from a local parts store
4)WOT, I don't have one :( But there are (if I remember correctly) 1 or 2 pieces of oddly shaped metal which can be used to make a bracket for the wot switch. I am told this is the most time consuming part of the whole set up.
5)Is that 90 degree pipe blue? If yes then that is a blow down tube. It is a safety requirement if the bottle is mounted in the passenger compartment. Actually you should have it set up even if the bottle is mounted in the trunk.
6)Teflon paste, not tape!!!! The paste works well on the nitrous. Tape will constantly leak
7) Your dad rules!!!!!!!!!
If you have time please take some pics as you do the install.

thanks for all your help guys!!

the 90 degrees thing im talking about is not the blow down tube but it looks like it links the nitrous line.

does anyone know how to mount the WOT to the engine? Is there holes on it to mount the metal bracket?

Thanks again for all the help!

i didnt use a WOT switch, i just have a arming switch, and a momentary pushbutton that sprays the nitrous when i push it and lets off when i let off the button.

I thought about doing this as well, The manual is setup to show you how to wire it for the WOT switch, what did you have to change to get this to work correctly?

all i did was wire in the push button switch with the WOT switch.

If you put it all on like it says to do with just the WOT switch, all you have to do is tie it into that so it will only shoot if the circuit is complete.

I put the two wires from my button to the negative wire of the WOT switch. so the whole circuit isnt complete unless the button closes it.

its kind of confusing but if you have any more questions just ask.

Well I just mounted my WOT switch the other day :D . On your TB there should be some hole that looks like a screw should go in it. Your welcome to try find a screw that fits but I couldn't find it for the life of me. My WOT switch just had a bracket that extended straight back with 3 oval holes to choose from. I just got a bolt that was small enough to fit in the hole with washers on each end. Put everything together, find the right hole and have someone step on the gas pedal. Slide the switch to the whatchamajinget until it clicks then tighted the bolt :D I had to put a couple washers between the switch and the TB because when I let off the gas it would get caught on the switch, which could be a bad thing. How reliable this is I'm not sure, in fact I'm gonna go make sure it's still there. Hope this helped
