I guess its required to have it if you want a FUEL PSI gauge INSIDE the car legally? Anyone know where to get one? Autometer has 2 ones almost 200 dollars and the other is 127. I know i could have went with an elec gauge BUT a mechanical one got dropped in my lap CHEAP. so i take what i get right? Could somone shed some light on this for me. It IS n20 related so you know...im using it for my nitrous setup.
Not really sure what forum this belongs in so if somone could answer the question or move it to the appropriate place i would appreciate it.
Works for me to stay here.
I just spent a while on jegs.com, summitracing.com, tbyrnemotorsports.com etc and this is what I came up with.
Jegs and t byrne nothing.
Summit had a 2 5/16 mechanical fuel psi guage (atm 5412) they then went on to say to be used in vehicle you must use isolator part # atm5280. I put that part # in and it said they no longer make one.
I know they have to have something.
I used an electrical fuel psi guage and isolator.
If I remember correctly the isolator was kinda expensive :(
Maybe try calling summit and speak to a tech. If they disscontinue a part they have to have something to replace it or work with it.
Sorry I couldn't find anything.
All I found were electric guage stuff.

Apparently for a mechanical gauge in the car, the isolator is one side fuel, one side glycol or something that runs all the way to the gauge. People hate it, as it leaks, messy, etc. Mount it outside on the hood? Get an electric one? Try it and report to us?
Good luck,

well damn...im not gonna spend 150 dollars for an isolater to have the thing leak into my car and get everyware and mess **** up. Im gonna tell the guy im gonna hold off until i find out for sure. This kinda frustrates me..Thanks guys i appreciate the replys.
You might just want to call summit racing tech line and ask them if they have any suggestions.
I too have heard of the glycol leaking and causing problems

Well, im just gonna pass the mechanical gauge up. It sounds like too much trouble than its worth. Im just gonna shell out the money for the Electrical one and be done with it. Besides the mechanical one is just gonna end up costing the same anyhow. If anyone knows where i could find a used 2 1/16 ELECTRIC FUEL PSI gauge ill buy it. Thanks for the replys guys I appreciate the help.
As luck would have it i found an ELECTRIC FUEL PSI gauge with everything i need to install it and make it work for 155$ shipped. Is that a good price? I didnt get details on what it came with so what SHOULD i be getting so that it works?
