So I have a NX wet kit, all the bells and whistles, I'm about to have it installed and I keep reading how wet kits aren't the safest way to go with 3.8s. Is their a conversion kit i can buy so i can run rirect port?
A while back I spoke with musclecartechnology's and they said they could do direct port plumbing for $350, you would have to ship them your manifold though. I think I still might do it, it will just be a while.
There is another way but its not cheep. If I remember correctly its up to $1000. It uses the holes that your fuel injectors use so no drilling or tapping is needed. I bet you could set everything up in 45 min by the looks of it. I wish I could remember the name, d'oh. If someone remembers can you post it? Thanks
Edit: Since you have a nitrous kit already you might just be able to buy the little part that goes between the fuel injectors and the block.

Good ? I would like to do this as well. If I setup a direct port nitrous injection. What would be the benifits would it be fasted. Also would we have to worry about nitrous backfire

Direct port nitrous kits are wet kits.
Conversion kit? All it does is get rid of one single nozzle and drill and tap a nozzle per cylinder into the intake
$350 seems kinda cheap
Holes where the injectors are, aka NOSzles. Supposedly they mount straight into where your injectors are and it sprays the nitrous in there. Cheap direct port, so they claim. For more info on that do a search on NOSzles
With the typical nitrous set up it enters through the tb and then goes into the intake manifold. Some cylinders may not get an equal amount of nitrous. With a direct port nitrous system each cylinder gets the exact same amount of nitrous. This is MUCH better.
Would it be quicker, sure!!!!
Compare a:
120 dry shot, nice amount
120 wet shot, same as above but more tq
120 direct port, same as above but even more hp and tq and safer.
Backfires are less with this set up
You can run a higher shot with this set up

so if you got the holes drilled what else would you need lines nozzles could you just buy that part of a direct port set up or what?

so i looked throught my NX catalogue and they say their direct-port setups are only for cars with modified bottem ends? It also says you need premium gas PLUS their fuel additive for anything 150 or LOWER. If your gonna run 100 shot, why would it matter if you spray it in the induction or run direct port? It seems to me like it would be safer on stock internals to run direct port....... your thoughts?
$350 does seem kinda cheap. I was kinda suprised myself. But I spoke with Arron from musclecar technologies and he said if i ship him my manifold then they could do all the plumbing for $350. I ended up running out of cash and never did it. Direct port is something I plan on doing but not for some time. Check with Arron at muscle car technologies for all the info.
still wondering if i get the wholes drilled what all is required
