This summer I am doing this... Do yall have any Suggestions
This summer I am doing forged rods and pistons and converting my NX kit to a direct port nitrous injection. What shot do yall think I can run safely. Also is there anything else I should get. I want to run asweome times. I will also prob get a different comprssion pistons. Would 10.1 be good or to much. I am counting on the pros here. Thanks guys.
Kris

i thought your rods were already forged i know the 3.4 rods are
any way i would run 100-150 ;) (thats just me)
i think you have a sufficent fuel system but you willhave to ask i don't and i am havig to upgrade
how are you converting? what kit are you buying ? is it just for Nx kits?
good luck it is going to be awsome!!

If the rods are forged that is great. I need to know about fuel system. I am going to do that musclecartech or something like that were they plumb for u for like $350 and then just by the accesories from NX to make it direct port. I would prob run a 150 shot bu t could I run more like a 200

well james ran 120 shot on his system and it handled it fine so not sure about the fuel upgrade
by plumbing do you mean just drilling the wholes in the inake or what?

Ok what would be yall recomendation. To do all forged and direct port nitrous or should I do heads and cam and port and polish upper and lower intake.
Or do that and forged pistons with 10.1

his 150 shot would be on a wet dirrect port nitrous system so you might not need to get bigger injectors get custom forged rod 10:1 would be nice N/A too with a heads and cam package would accecent it 150 shot i dont think would be a problem on forged pistons hell i thinkyou could go as high as 200 specially on race gas just to set a record hehe
if your rods are already forged then you don't need new ones you change your cr with pistons and milling your heads if you are going nitrous raise the cr up a lil when you get the pistons made

You will need to get forged rods, 3.8's do not have them but 3.4's do. This is because the 3.4 is a stroked 2.8 but the 3.8 is a differant engine. I heard this in the Forced Induction section a while ago. Just my ¢2.
Your rods are not forged, you will need to get them. GTP rods are.
Forge everything, you cannot go wrong there. Rods, pistons & crank. While you have the engine apart, go ahead w/ port & polish of intakes & get a head & cam from supersix (they are good with the nitro). Raise compression a little bit, maybe 10:1, that is plenty. Go with a wet kit direct port (a LOT safer if done right, esp with the higher shots of nitrous. Plus less hassle w/ the fuel system). You might need a better feul pump though.
I say start off with a reasonable shot, like 125, and work your way up to about 200. Patience is a wonderful virtue my friend, and I would much rather find out about a problem with 125 shot -- a problem that could blow my motor with the 200 shot.
Your going to be running some serious times like this too, remember 12.999 or faster and you need a helmet. And I think it is 11.999 or faster and you need a rollcage. Plus, your going to need some great tires to handle that 200 shot...
Later, & good luck with the project. Just remember, take your time & do it right. I know a guy that blew his motor on a 50-75 wet shot because of a ghetto install, don't let it happen to you.

Well then the project begins. I will start gathering parts and keep yall informed. and if yall having suggestions please post or IM at crappyday21, or email crappyday@mylinuxisp.com

DO NOT GET BIGGER INJECTORS!!! unless you reprogram your computer.
A direct port system will work completely fine with stock injectors.
As for fuel upgrades, walbro in tank 255 lph pump
Single stage max 125
Over that and it will be hard to grab.
175 and 200 wet direct port will melt your tires. It would look cool though :D
My plan: dual stage
First stage is direct port 100 shot
Second stage is drilled and tapped into the throttle body, it starts at 50 and can be adjusted up from there
Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6

2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8: 12.125, 116.45
2010 Ford Taurus SHO: no times yet
Ok so you sugges that I do a 100 shot direct port and then have a second stage in the trottle bodie where i have it tapped now with like a 50 to 75 shot. What kinda stuff will I need for the direct port if I send the intake away to be drilled and plumbed. I know 6 nozzles what else. Also can I run a dual stage like that off of one say 15lbs bottle.

Hey guys. For starters I’ve always been a big car guy, I love all types of cars and can appreciate all types of engineering. I’ve always been a Chevy...
