  • When should I hit?

Im planning on getting a TNT kit for my car and I have completely reseached the install, but Im not sure where I can hit the N2O safely in my run.Off the line? Or should I wait till I rev to about 3800 rpm in 3rd so I don't risk a missed shift. I know I COULD get a window switch, but if Im safe without it.......why spend $150 more? THanks a lot

Yeah we do need some more info but I'll guess at some things.
Technicians at the various nitrous companies suggest nitrous activation above 3000 rpm's at wide open throttle only!!!!
      above 3000 in 1st, 2nd, 3rd for auto
      Above 3000 in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th for manual
In overdrive (auto) and 5th (manual) it is not good for the tranny.
Honestly you should never cut corners when using nitrous.
I always suggest to everyone else to use any and all safety features when using nitrous.
Do I use them...... well...... no but that is me.

I appologize for my ignorance. I have a 3.8L with the 5-speed standard trans, I have an mti airbox, with the k&n, and recentally put in some new ngk's. I was going to run between a 50-75 shot, or 100 if you think it would be safe for me. 100 shot sounds like a bit much to me, so I was going to hit lower.

Oh, also, it's a wet system.
        Thanks again

If you juice then use ngk tr 6's gapped at 0.035
Do you have the kit, cause you mentioned that it is wet.
          If yes, what kind?

it was my understanding that the intake on the ls1 and 3800 was the same. Have I been misinformed?
