ok i have a 2000 pontiac grand prix gt 3.8 na
    basicly the same motor .

i notice a lot of camoro people run nitrous this is good. not mant gps run it.

anyways my question is how much nitrous can i run before parts start breaking .i plan on getting forged pistons but dont know how the bottom end will hold up i thoug some of the more experienced people in here could help me with this.

OK, well since this was sent over to us nitrous junkies I deleted the duplicate post :D
      How much is too much???
It could be as small as 20 hp or as much as 120?
If the engine is running in poor condition it might grenade w/ a 20 shot.
If it is running in tip top shape and you have a good enough fuel system to support it then maybe 120?
I stayed w/ the 120 hp dry shot for a very long time.
I had kenne bell boost a pump, afpr, reprogrammed computer to help my fuel needs.
85 hp dry (typical level for nos kit 5175) is a 'comfy' or 'safe' level on a good running engine.
Is there a 100% guarentee that the engine will not grenade, nope, it might.
Hell you might even be able to do a 150 hp or even a 175 (wet) shot once down the 1/4 :D
How much is too much is a kinda open ended question :D
      I'm a nitrous junkie, I'm never satisfied :D

since his is a Grand Prix, couldn't he do a little more stock seeing as some of his components are forged? Just my $.02

I thought only the GTP grand prix had the forged. He said he has a GT which should be the same L36 in our cars. I have the Nitrou Express Wet kit. I run a 75 shot. I have put only 1 bottle though it and had it for 5 months. I dont use it that much because its winter in utah. With no fuel upgrades and stock motor I feel comfortable with a 75. If I were to upgrade the fuel pump and maybee retard timing I would probly run a 100 shot. But i have had no problems with 75. I am running NGK TR6 spark plugs.

                  GTP's have the stronger internals
                  GP's don't
