  • NOTHING!!!!!!!

Ok, I got my bottle filled yesterday and put theline to the remote bottle opener and then the opener to the bottle and it started to leak at the connection from the bottle to the opener. so i crank it down and it stops. then it started to leak again! it was a small one but it still made me mad. but i went on the highway to just do a test shot and what happened? NOTHING!!!!!AHHHHHH

all the electrical stuff works and i can hear the nitrous going through the line but i feel nothing.
Im doing a 50 dry shot but i would think i would be able to feel it.

I used teflon (<-sp?) paste on all the fittings. has anyone had problems with their remote bottle opener like that?

    I am soooo mad

I think I know what the problem is... if you have the remote bottle opener, take it off. There is a purple anodized bottle cap on top of the bottle... loosen it with a wrench. The shop where you had your bottle filled probably tightened the hell out of it and the bottle opener won't open it.

By the way, do you have a Purge?? You said you "hear" it going through the lines

the bottle opener wasnt on when they filled it up. it opens fine. Ok, heres my set up

        1) arming switch
        2) remote bottle opener
        3) push botton switch to spray

everything opens and when i hit the push button i can hear the nitrous going though the line. meaning the solenoids are open or there is a nasty leak in the engine bay.

the nitrous is going somewhere, and it has to be going into the intake. I hear it working but i feel no gain what so ever. did i do something wrong? I really dont understand it.

disconnect the line where it goes into the nozzle (intake elbow or tb which ever one u got it on) then press the button and see if nitrous is running into the engine if it ain't then you know it is the selenoids if it has a leak i would think you should still get nitrous out of the line just not as much so if you notice that look for your leak that is the only thing i know to say :D

well i found out what it was.
I opened the hood and what did i see? the damn vacuum hose was off of that blue thing that is connected to the solenoids! so the nitrous was going straight into the engine bay. so i tightened it up and looked for more problems and i found that it came off the fuel press. regularot also. so i cranked all the hose fittings down and I am trying to fix the leak right now. when i get that done im going out for a test run. wish me luck! on mine i had there should be a hose already on the FPR so i had to get a T so the line could still be connected so i just went and picked up a small plastic T and ran my hose from the NOS tower to teh T and the pre existing tuube when on the T so that left one more side to go into the FPR so i bout a small peice of tubing that fit tight on the T and fuel pressure regulator stays on good i have no problemes and it cost me maybe $2.45 :D i did this because i did not want to locktite my line on

i still dont understand, sorry. my question is what kind of hose is on the actual Fuel Press. Regulator? and what did you use to keep it on? my dad and i are testing it right now and nitrous comes out the steal hose then the vacuum line blows off the FPR every time. the black plastic hose clamps NOS gave me just are not cutting it. so my basic question is what kind of hose did you use and what kind of clamp did you use?

                  thanks

sorry i stepped out for a min i got a wet kit now and my dry kit is gone i so i can not look at the hose size i just picked up a hose from the local lowes it had thick walls and a small hole and was hard as mess to put on it was tight then i got a clamp that you put a screw driver in to turn and tighten and tightend the **** out of it. the tube was like a 1" in length does not need to be long

Ooofa, kinda interesting problem we have.
OK lets see where we can go with this....
First thing to try is with the vehicle running remove the nozzle from the intake, flip your master switch, have someone hit the button in the car and see if the nitrous is truely flowing through the nozzle.
I have never been able to hear my nitrous flowing.
You will need two people to do that, 1 hold the line w/ a towel cause it will get cold and the other to press the activation button.
OK, if you can not do that then do you have a purge?
Hit it and then we can find out that the nitrous is flowing.
You may want to remove the remote bottle opener just to eliminate any extra variables.
                      Teflon paste is good.
Weigh the bottle, if you truely have used nitrous it would weigh less.
I am thinking that you have a vaccum leak and that is what you are hearing.
As for the nitrous and vaccum line poping off:, the vaccum line is there so that once the nitrous flows it causes the vaccum to rise, this then will raise the fuel pressure and voila nitrous will flow. If you have a fpss then what would happen is the following: you hit the button, nitrous starts to flow, vaccum rises, fuel psi rises, vaccum line pops off, fuel psi drops, nitrous flows, fpss senses that fuel psi isn't high enough for nitrous and no nitrous useage. This would all happen in a matter of a second or two.
I have a rubber vaccum line from the nos solenoid area (blue thing) to my afpr (or your regular vaccum line. Mine is t'ed into the stock vaccum line that enters the engine bay on the drivers side fender w/ the fuel lines.
If this still does not help there are really small zip ties you can try to see if it will hold

we just bought a smaller hose and a screw thing that goes on the hose that connects to the fuel press. regulator. were in the process of re-sealing the remote bottler opener now. were going to let that sit and then test our new stuff for the vacuum system without the RBO on. i hope it works.

ok, what happened yesterday. I would hit the button the N2O would go through the line fine for a second then the vacuum line would blow off then the nitrous would come out of that. Im just guessing though.

also has anyone had problems with fuel leaking from either the FPSS or the FPR connections? just woundering. that would seem like that would be very bad.

                        Thanks

just when the line stays on, my car wont run!

OK first, take a step back and deep breathe.
Do you know how many times I've been there and the obvious was right in front of me?
                            Countless :D
So, first, put it back to the way it ran fine n/a.
                            See how it is then.
Nitrous is not mandatory (you will never see me say that again :D ) right now we just want it running.
Then because it is late you may want to wait till tomorrow to check all the vaccum lines.

I used a t fitting and I know some others have used it. Are you using one also?

                              (deep breath)

do you mean the t-fitting that came with the kit?

oh yeah i blew a hole in one of the rubber fittings that is part of the vacuum line (it went into a sensor on the left side of the engine) so now i used some extra hose to connect that.

is there any way that i might have damaged the fuel press. regulator?

also just to be clear, at the bottom of the T fitting, where does that line go? If you could answer that it might save me a lot of time

                              thanks
