  • Tried out the juice... heard some noises

Well, I only got a few tries at it before my tranny got real mad at me. Read about that here.

When I was spraying I heard a constant ticking. Is this normal? I've never heard an engine tick before. Honestly, it sounded like the stopwatch on 60 minutes! It went on the entire time I sprayed.

    Constant ticking....
I saw the post but I really didn't know.
I was trying to get some info on it but I honestly just do not know.
    My engine never ticked.
You could have a pulsing form the fpss but that is kinda different

I have an FPSS... two actually, but they are all the way up in front of my battery. Would I still hear them? It seemed to me like the ticking was coming from the driver side, where the nitrous solenoids are, but I don't really know for sure.

yea the fpss is working , which cause a loud ticking sound.. my friends setup was making a huge ticking sound and he took off his fpss and now the ticking is gone. i think nx sent him a bad one so he is going to replace it

yeah dude! I was sparying today and I also heard the same similar ticking sound you are describing...

I went and checked the jets in the nozzel, and I fu(king dropped one somewhere in the engine compartment... Anyways... When I took the nozzel out I noticed there was gass all over the line and nozzel... Could this also be becuase the FPSS?

My idle fuel pressure is set at 35-36 psi.. Is this normal?

So what shoud I do? Replace my FPSS?

            Thanks for your insight.

            Joe

ops! I also forgot to ask.... when you sprayed and heard the ticking noise... did you feel the nitrous working? When I hit my juice, and it was ticking, I didn't feel the boost....

Then I tried it a couple more times, and the ticking went a way, and the car pulled..but not hard like it usually feels. (100 Shot)

Soemthign is defiantly wrong with my set-up ...

              ~Sigh~

Yeah, I did feel a pull, but due to an incorrectly setup system (doh!) I was getting way, way, WAY too much fuel so the pull was really more like a strong tailwind than nitrous pull. Coupleled with very low bottle psi, I was getting maybe an extra 15-20 hp. Then my tranny broke.

your pressure is way too low. should be in the upper 40's. the fpss is factory set at 35psi... if your pressure is below that it will tick and not work..
now all fpss are a 100% accurate.. you need to up your fue preesure at idle.. the reason it is working when your topend is because you fuel pressure is much high. the shot is going to feel weaker cause your already going preety fast. when you spray off the line it hits alot harder and feels "stronger". i hope this answers your questions

                    FYI
                    My set up:
                    NOS dry kit 5175 w/ a 120 shot
Hitting the nitorus brought my fuel psi up to around 75-80 psi
Stock fuel psi for me was 32.5 at idle.
I think you are hearing your fpss.
