  • 98 3.8 plugs & wires

I want to change my spark plugs and wires. I want the best performance out of both. Possible nitrous later, but more than likely not. I have heard of the NGK-TR6=55? Is that the right spark plug for my car? Any help guys?

NGK tr6's are a nitrous plug, either 1 or 2 ranges colder.
If you are n/a then stick w/ a stock plug, I only run ngk tr6's so I only know them.
As for wires, I run accel extreme 9000 8 mm's and like them
Taylors are half the cost though

if you have never changed the wires in your car before go with the taylors.. I didn't.. started with the ~$80 accel 9000's James mentioned. Burned one because I didn't route them right. Second go-round I went with the taylors because I didn't want to destroy another $80 set of plug wires..

        just my .02

edit.. plus thunderracing is overnight through UPS ground for me.. ;)

Yes it does suck to burn an accel wire
I bought an extra set when I burned one so now I have spares

hey james what are you gapping those NGK TR6 plugs at? How often do you change them with the nitrous?

I agree, I like the TR6 plugs, I also have accel extreme 9000 wires and like them.

And would the gap have any effect on the car? I am running stock gap Like .050 or .060 cant remember, but its the stock gap, is the stock gap with TR6 plugs and nitrous bad? I have heard people say to run that at .035? Just wondering if this will work. I have had them like this for about 1 bottle with no problems. What do you think?

NGK TR6's gapped at .035 only on a nitroused car.
Don't mess with any other gapping, trust me.
I check mine here and there.
I can tell if I have burned an electrode on 1 plug
