  • nitrous on a 100,000+ mileage car???

I have a 95 3.4 with like 110,000 miles or so, all of which are highway miles and the engine is in great running order(so far). I just wanted to know if my engine and auto transmission would have a good chance of taking a 50-75 shot of nitrous??? If it can, and I hope it will, I will be using the NOS #5175 kit. I do have a gutted CAT, 3" catback with flowmaster and a CAI if this helps.

    Thanks, Travis

Well yes a full exhaust and intake do improve the nitrous system.
As for 110,000 miles......., if it runs perfect and is well maintained then you could but just remember it could go boom, or just break.
High mileage engines may not like the added stress of nitrous.
Even a 50 shot can grenade a brand new engine

12second is right, anything can happen. I'm spraying with an engine that has 185,000 miles on it and she's still doing fine, not even the slightest signs of real wear but I have a complete engine kit standing by.

got 105K on my 3.8. Spraying 75 shot regularly. She still is doing just fine. Keep and eye on fuel pressure, air/fuel ratio, and nitrous pressure. Dont try and push it to hard.

I have 157,750 on mine, and I know someone with a NOS kit on his 93 LT1 and he had no probs, 100 shot got him to 11.8 from 12.95. Here is the thing with NOS, as long as there is enough fuel to go with the juice you will be fine. This means better fuel injectors, a secondary fuel pump. Also, make sure you are not running too rich/lean if you are at an optimium level, again you will be fine. The last concern is you main caps they get a little stressed out, but I think they should hold. Just get an air/fuel ratio guage and monitor it. Also get a window swtich and have it kick on at like 3000 and turn off at close to your rev limit(On mine it WAS like 5700) but I have a V8. You won't have engine damage and DRY is safer than WET. There is a science to it, it is not push the button and cross your fingers, just do not exceed a 100 shot and you will be fine. Good luck!!!

Better injectors? Well, clean ones performing to their fullest.
Not bigger though cause we know what happened to mine
Secondary pump as in piggie back pump is a good idea.
So far magnus just went with a drop in walbro in tank 255 lph pump and maf translator and I went with custom computer programming, afpr, and kenne bell boost a pump.
Our blower people have the piggie back system, it is nice
Rich is fine, lean is bad
Dry vs wet, which is safer??? That will be the old debate here.
All I can say is our intake manifolds are not designed for fuel, that is why most of the kits are dry.
But, wet is better for high hp applications and more torque
