So I'm driving down the road, my pressure guage is reading 900psi. I find that kinda odd as I've had the bottle heater on for somewhere near 10 minutes.... POP! Instantly the entire car is full of a big nitrous cloud. I can't see where I'm going, how fast I'm going. Nothing but white... I quickly realize what's happening, so I slam on the brakes, and attempt to pull to the side of the road. Keep in mind I can't see anything at all, not even as far as the steering wheel- absolutely nothing but white. When I come to a stop, I open the door and the cloud clears. Headlights behind me.. I see a line of stopped cars and realize I've stopped in the middle of the road! Pull the car to the side of the road and let it vent out. After I calm down a bit I drove the rest of the way home (less than a mile).
I'm pretty upset with the whole situation. I just put the safety popoff cap on today, and had my bottle filled this afternoon. I'm pretty sure the cap was faulty. At the same time I would think that the bottle pressure would rise a bit faster with the heater on. It was right around 900 when I turned it on... it rose to about 925 shortly after, then I sprayed a couple times and purged some.. it was reading near 900 when it happened. I had felt the top of the bottle a couple minutes before, and it was just slightly above ambient temperature. There's no way that bottle made it to 3000psi. Anyway... that's how my night went. Other than that, the nitrous is working out great... I love it.... when it's not blowing out into my car!
