According to NOS its safe to run their 5175 kit with stock plugs (which are even platinum I believe).
If its true or not, I have no idea (the stock kit is an 85 shot).
I have the NGK TR6s in my car now and I hear ya about the N/A performance. The car definitely feels slower. Have you run it at the track with the nitrous plugs though? I haven't so I have no proof.

infernal i'm running a 9.6@69mph.. this is terrible for all the mods that i have. i'm cutting 2.1 60ft. times. my mph is very low and i have a feel that these plugs are doing it. i also had 15,000 miles on these ngk's...97 CAMARO RS
12.9@103mph
best 60ft..1.9 ( on street tires)
1.7 (on gas)
turbo supra 12.5@119mph (street tires)
new times to come sporting the sp63gt

OK, to use a nitrous system safely run ngk tr6's gapped at .035
Can you get away with stock plugs gapped at .060? Maybe, maybe not.
As much as the companies say you can use stock plugs I would never ever use stock plugs.
I would never suggest anyone ever using stock plugs with a nitroused car.
The key is doing every safety measure right? NGK TR6's gapped at 0.035 are MUCH safer than stock gapped at 0.060Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6
