It's SAFER to spray with a shift kit. Shifts are quicker.

ok guys thanks for your help. BTW how much is it to have a place install the kit for you? I'll probably buy it online for $109...unless anyone knows a cheaper place to get it.

It is completely fine to spray on a trannny w/o a shift kit.
The kits are designed at 'normal hp levels' to work completely fine with all stock compontnets.
Trans go will only improve it.
Stock is kinda lazy, transgo is more positive, firm, and a bit quicker

nah I'm definately getting a shift kit. It's on my to do list next month along with installing a custom catback. Then comes the MSD-DIS4 ignition and finally the nitrous. 85-shot style
