The remote opener is neat. It opens the bottle from a push of a button from inside the car. The drawback is that there is a good sized contraption with a motor in it tha has "teeth". the "teeth" tun the value open when activated. But it is a PITA to take the opener off the bottle when you get it filled, and also when you put it back on, you have to re-align the teeth.
I hope that helps.

On the opener, the is a motor that turns a plate with "teeth" on it to turn a disk that opens the bottle. How does your work? Is it expensive to make?

mines like a soelnoid. it opens quick and shuts quick. it has nothing to do with the bottle itself.http://www.geocities.com/atg284

1996 Black RS
3.8L --V6 -- A4
y87 performance package--flowmaster--SLP CAI--fan switch--3.42 gears--nos 5175
http://camaroz28.cardomain.com/id/theforgottenfbod

Yes. they do close the bottle as well. It wouln't make much of a convience if it didn't! lol...
Anyways, yes it mounts on top of your bottle, and it requires you to take it off when filling, and also when you put it back on you must alighn the teeth to open it, which can be a PITA.

Remote bottle opener opens and closes bottles.
It is mounted on top of the bottle.
You can fit a 10 lb bottle with remote bottle opener in the spare tire well.Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6

Pros: you can open the bottle anytime you want from inside the cockpit of the car (depending on where the switch is mounted).
You don't have to get out of the car and go to the trunk (or wherever the bottle is, to open it)
Cons: Sometimes the opener overtightens the bottle cap (if your not careful) and the bottle doesn't open when you press the button.
If the bottle opener is not mounted corrected, the bottle will not open at all.
You have to listen for a specific sound to open and close the bottle.
You can't see whether the bottle is open or closed, so it is possible to "lose" all of your nitrous (ask me how I know that one). It was a $50 mistake.2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph
