  • Odd Purge

I pulled up behind an 88 Mustang GT the other day. It had drag radials Nitrous.

He purged his nitrous, but it shot out of the top of his trunk.

Doesn’t having the valve in the trunk defeat the purpose of having a purge?

If the valve is in the trunk, then yes it does, but it's possible that the valve could have been up near the nitrous solenoid and just had tubing running all the way back. That would waste ALOT of nitrous though. Besides, he's got a stang... already headed in the wrong direction there. ;)

      Yes sir, you are correct.
You want to get the nitrous as close to the throttle body as possible

so if that is the case....mounting the bottle in the back of the car wouldnt be as effective as mounting it...say on the notorious "hump" in the backseat????

It really doesn't matter where the bottle is, you should have the purge set up as close to the tb as possible.
Sure if the bottle was really close the the tb then you would waste a lot less nitrous but who can really have it mounted really close :D
