I was considering sometime in the distant future of juicin' the 95 3.4 a4. After talking to some friends of mine who are now avid racers to get Zex kit if i didnt get a wet system. They said that dry systems were just too dangerous. They suggested Zex as the best alternative. Let me know. Thanx

I also am considering a zex kit myself. But the NOS-05175 kit is just as safe and it is made specifically for our cars. look on summit for details. I am not sure but I thought the zex kit runs the same way as the NOS kit, but istead of having individual solenoids they have their solenoids inside the "smart box thing" But I am pretty sure it works the same way by hooking to the vaccum line that goes to the stock fuel pressure regulator. You can often find good prices on zex kits on ebay. The honda kit will work just fine on our cars as long as the kit hooks up to the vacuum line to the FPR. :D1997 red 3.8 M5-Daily Driver
I/E, Magnaflow cat...

1990 Talon TSI AWD-Weekend Warrier
Forged internals, Front Mount, SS valves, crower springs, -still under construction. Do a search. I have posted a lot of information on the Zex kits.
To summerize: The Zex kit IS a dry kit in every sense. The zex kits work on the same theory as the NOS kit. Inside the "Magic Purple Box" is just a single nitrous solenoid, WOT switch, and a piece of brass for nitrous transfer. When the solenoid is open some of the nitrous pressure is used to increase fuel pressure ( same way as the NOS kit by use of the stock FPR ).
My views: I never had any problem with my Zex kit, but I wouldn't buy it unless you get a good deal on it. It is a decent kit, I just dont like the way the company does business. They say that their kit is safer than all the other dry kits, but it runs on the exact same principle. It is a very simple kit that doesnt allow much customization. Think of it as the "Fisher-Price" nitrous kit. ;)

you can still blow your engine even with a wet kit..and also, (correct me if im wrong) dont wet kits tend to get nitrous backfires alot?96 Camaro M5. Good explanation death buzz
My suggestion would be the nos kit 5175.
It is specifically made for the 3.4 engine.
Stay with a 50 shot or maybe 60, max it out at 75.
There are a lot of posts on various safety precautions to do, do a search and find outRace car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6
